Liam’s Priorities
We can’t wait.
We can’t wait to lower the cost of living.
We can’t wait to save Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
We can’t wait to build new housing.
We can’t wait to protect our democracy.
We can’t wait to stop authoritarians.
We can’t wait to feed the hungry.
We can’t wait to protect the marginalized and the middle class.
We can’t wait to invest in public safety and public education.
We can’t wait to save this country.
We cannot sit on our hands and hope to eke out a victory in 2026. That is not a strategy, it’s a prayer. We have tried, again and again, with the same old strategies. And we continue to lose.
We can’t wait for a change—we have to be the change. The days of Democrats being the party of hesitation and delay are over. We must be the party of action and urgency.
Because we do not have time to waste.
Because we can’t wait.
Actually Fight Trump.
Donald Trump is incompetent, lawless, and out of control. We need leaders with the energy and backbone to fight Trump now, not to sit on their hands and wait to eke out a midterm victory. Organizing, lobbying, lawsuits, boycotts, protests, denying the Republicans a quorum—no political action should be left off the table. This is an existential moment for the Democratic Party and the country. We are not the minority party—we are the opposition party. It’s time to act like it.
Make Democrats Better.
Democrats are deeply unpopular — despite Trump’s reckless, ruthless “leadership,” our approval rating still stands at around 25% nationwide. We can’t keep hoping that Trump crumbles on his own. We urgently need to become more generationally relevant, better organized, and ready to fight. Liam is prepared to address the democratic crisis in this country, to galvanize people around a shared vision, and to help the Democratic party and country recover from Trump’s reign of terror. As a non-profit CEO, Liam has always been a committed public servant — and believes we need more leaders focused on serving the public, not merely holding on to power.
End Corruption Now.
Liam is running to end the scourge of corruption that has overtaken the halls of Congress. As a nonprofit CEO, he understands the need to elect leaders who prioritize public service. He is the only candidate in this race who refuses to take a dime of corporate PAC money. He will fight to overturn Citizens United, publicly finance elections, ban individual stock trading by members of Congress, ban partisan gerrymandering, and increase transparency around “dark money” groups that hijack our political process.
Make America Affordable.
When the current incumbent was first elected, the average one-bedroom apartment in Manhattan cost $541 per month. Now, the average is almost $5,000. Meanwhile, 40% of the buildings in Manhattan would be illegal to build today. Simply put, life in New York has become unaffordable because our leaders have made it impossible to find new housing. Liam will lower the rent by increasing the supply of housing, and will lower the cost of healthcare by investing in cures and treatments for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, hearing loss, and other diseases, by holding insurance companies accountable, by empowering Medicare to bulk-negotiate the price of prescription drugs, by eliminating medical debt, and by increasing the number of spots in medical schools across the country, increasing the number and availability of doctors.
Protect Civil Rights.
We should be making it easier for people to vote, not harder. In 2006, the vote in the House to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act was 396-33. In 2021, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act barely passed the House at all. Liam will be a tireless fighter to advance voting rights, ban gerrymandering, and ensure that every person is represented in government. Liam supports overturning the disastrous Shelby County decision that allowed states to suppress voting rights, and ensure that discriminatory voter ID laws are forbidden.
Our LGBTQ+ communities are bearing the brunt of Trump’s hatred. Liam will support the Equality Act, providing federal protections to LGBTQ+ people, making sure they are protected in employment, housing, and public accommodations. Liam will also fight to provide funding for schools so that LGBTQ+ youth have access to mental healthcare and safe environments.
In a post-Roe world, Liam will demand a national law enshrining the right to abortion, as our leaders should have done in every Congress since 1972. Liam will also fight for funding to abortion and reproductive healthcare providers, codify access to mifepristone, and increase funding for rape kits and survivor support.
Protect Our Stuff.
Liam will advance legislation to keep Trump and Musk’s paws off of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Liam will increase funding for Medicare Advantage to expand coverage for dental and mental health care services. Liam will raise the wage base on social security taxes to keep this essential program, which has lifted millions of seniors out of poverty, available for future generations.
Liam will also fight for a nationwide Right to Counsel law to protect tenants, keeping renters in their homes and ensuring that no one is forced out into the street without due process.
Promote Public Service.
Maryland, California, and Washington have adopted a public service option for young people to participate in a paid year of community service. Service has been proven to reduce polarization, increase feelings of connectedness, and improve community outcomes. As a community organizer, Liam knows first-hand how powerful service can be and will fight to take these pilots nationwide.
